Terms

The short version.

Last updated: 29 May 2026

What you're agreeing to

By using olwenai.com, the Olwen product, or the source code in our repo, you're accepting these terms. They're short on purpose.

The code

The Olwen source code is licensed under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. In plain terms:

✓ You can run it, fork it, modify it, share it, and learn from it, for any noncommercial purpose — personal, research, education, hobby, charity, public-interest work.

✗ You can't sell it, host it for paying customers, embed it in a commercial product, or otherwise use it to make money — not without a separate commercial license.

The hosted service

Olwen's hosted version (olwenai.com once it opens beyond beta) is offered as-is. You connect your own LLM keys; we don't bill for inference. You're responsible for any charges from your LLM provider, Resend (if you use them for email), or any third party you authorize.

Acceptable use

Don't use Olwen to:

• Process other people's data without their consent.
• Send spam or abusive email through connected accounts.
• Generate or distribute illegal content.
• Reverse-engineer anti-abuse measures.
• Resell hosted Olwen accounts.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account password and connected OAuth tokens safe. If you suspect compromise, change your password and re-authorize integrations in Settings.

Termination

You can delete your account anytime in Settings — it purges within 7 days. We can terminate accounts that materially violate these terms, with notice where reasonable.

Warranty

Olwen is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. The PolyForm license explicitly disclaims warranties; the hosted service inherits that.

Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, neither the maintainer nor any contributor is liable for incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Olwen — including data loss, missed appointments because the morning brief was wrong, or anything else.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Saudi Arabia. Disputes go to the courts of Riyadh.

Changes

If we materially change these terms, we'll announce it in the product and in the repo (so it's in git history). The current version is always at olwenai.com/terms.
